Chicken Pie Shop

Look for this painted red chicken electrical box outside the Chicken Pie Shop on El Cajon Blvd. Inside there are hundreds of ceramic, plastic, feathered, and wooden chickens that line the walls of the place. They have been in San Diego since the 1930's and still serve the same fare: good cheap comfort food. Pie dinners include a chicken pie, whipped potatoes, gravy, vegetables, cole slaw, a roll and dessert for $6.50. They also have chicken giblets or livers for the adventurous eaters.
