Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park
The Leo Carrillo Ranch was once a working ranch that was built in the late 1930s by actor Leo Carrillo. The ranch was dedicated and opened as a public park in 2003. This is the view from the pool/La CabaƱa looking at (from left to right) the Wash House where Leo lived while the place was being built, a stone BBQ, and the main house.
Before we headed out to the park I worried that it might be just a regular old park, but it was quite special with the preserved buildings, wide open spaces, and the peacocks and peahens roaming around.

Looks very nice! I'm trying to remember ... it seems Leo Carrillo was famous for portraying a certain character, but I'm coming up blank...do you know?
This is great stuff. Thank you. I haven't been here since 1962....marvelous.
Hi Jacob & Maggie - thanks for stopping by! I read in a pamphlet about the Ranch that Leo Carrillo was best known for playing Pancho in the TV series The Cisco Kid.
Leo Carrillo Ranch in San Diego has always been enthralling me and I just sometimes go there to site for a while in the solitude. Also, I came across and thought of sharing with you, this San Diego reference site (ww.sandiegolocalguide.com), which I just found. Here one can find everything that one may need in San Diego.
I wish i could come there sometimes. I think that is nice and cool place to enjoy.

Amazing! Is this place free to the public? I just added this place to my hidden San Diego website. I never even knew it existed!

Having read this material, I have learned for myself a lot of the new. Thanks
I know a university graduate, Leo Carrillo worked as a newspaper cartoonist for the San Francisco Examiner before turning to acting on Broadway
