A different kind of turkey
This bird is called a turkey vulture - what ugly and fascinating creatures! There were several of them sitting atop the fence posts near Lake Murray, watching my every move, spreading their large wings and intimidating me.

Yeah, scary. They can swoop down and steal your children (just kidding).
It is rare to see them so close. Fantastic shot. I wish their heads were not so homely because they are majestic birds.
