It's all about the crust...

We got about a 5 pound bag of apples from our apple picking in Julian. This is really too many apples unless you have a big family of apple lovers or if you follow the "apple a day keeps the doctor away" rule. So, I made this apple galette to make the apples more palatable and use up a handful of apples.

WOW! an apple galette in the USA. I've had it in France but never here. My wife makes a great apple pie with a lattice top. I do miss the galette.

Thanks Expat and TOG. To be honest, I'm not much of a baker and working with the dough to make a galette is so much easier since it doesn't have to fit into a pie dish. Now a lattice top - that is a lot of work!
