Night (space) rider
Yep, that is a small space ship on the front of a motorcycle with sparkling lights. And there were flags. And a costumed man with a long beard. And a website on the side of the bike that I couldn't read. Have you seen this biker dude around town?
Expat, funny you mention OB Spaceman because I starting thinking about other SD "characters" and Spaceman came to mind. I have a special "ticket" from him...can't remember what it gets me though.
His name is Loch David Crane, he used to always run for mayor, and that's the Star Trike. I think he does magic shows dressed as Santa? He's always in parades, a total SD character.
Yup, Locke is always running for Mayor, and he is a magician of great caring. He also lives right up the street. :) And look, right above my note is another thinking just the same.
I used to think that Loch David Crane was just another colorful part of open-minded Ocean Beach. I was disturbed to discover that he is a hateful proponent of Prop 8.

The configuration of the lights looks like the original Enterprise from Star Trek....
wow. never seen that before.
He built that back in the late 70s. I have seen it around San Diego many times, though not recently.
Here is the website. Star Trike
Thanks for the link Ifics - fascinating!
Felicia,
I remember seeing The Star Trike in the early 90's, probably in downtown.
Very snappy!

I thought that was the OB Spaceman, but apparently he's been dead for a while.
