Well, hello

I saw this plaque that says "Hello Walk" at San Diego State University and I wondered what it was all about. It turns out that it commemorates an old tradition that students no longer practice. The tradition was that every morning, freshmen students would line-up along this walkway and as seniors entered the campus the freshmen would greet them and wave. Pretty cute.

It's a shame how traditions like that vanish. Most universities I know have references to things tlike that deep in their history, but the tradition itself has faded out.

Nice too. I never knew that and I worked and attended SDSU too.
