I thought I'd show you another view of the sea wall at the Children's Pool/Casa Beach. Philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps gave about $60,000 to build the wall in order to create a safe swimming area for children. The wall took about 10 years from its initial survey and design to its completion in the spring of 1931. You can see that there are steps built into the base of the wall which were meant for seating and for kids to climb around on.
