Some points
I saw this Century Plant (its scientific name is Agave Americana Marginata) in North Park and was stunned by its size - maybe about 10 feet tall. What a whopper! I read that it only flowers occasionally and that the shoot can get up to 25 feet tall! Maybe next spring...
Most "century" plants bloom once, then the main plant dies. The blooms turn into seedlings that fall off and start growing. Someetimes new plants will start growing from the base of the old plant.

Thanks Louis. In that case, I do hope that I'll get a chance to see this one bloom someday.
