Frings and things
I can imagine that some of you (Gayle) won't go any where near Hodad's because of the calories. Hodad's is well worth the occasional indulgence - some say the best burger in town...and it is very Ocean Beachy. They serve beer in canning jars, burgers are fresh and large (bacon is good and crispy), service is friendly and fast, and my son really liked the sign that said, "No shirt, no shoes, no problem". Here is the inside of the restaurant and some million calorie frings - half french fries, half onion rings.

Actually Gayle and I are old enough OBecians to remember Hoadad's in its original location in the sleaze-strip of Voltaire St. We may eve have had lunch there once or twice.
Haven't been since it moved, though.
I guess it has been a long time then...my mom also remembers them being located "on the beach" - I don't remember, was it that food shack near Santa Monica?
On the north side of Voltaire between Cable and Sunset Cliffs. The premises were taken over for a while by "Seedless... may contain an occasional seed". Not sure what's there now -- I'll be sure to look next time I'm by.
I heart Hodad's!
One of the waiters (not sure if this is the best word choice) even offered, almost insisted to go to Starbucks to get coffee for me to enjoy with my meal.
The guy who keeps running for Mayor lives there now. Yes, Hodad's now has a line around the block and great owners. :)
