Beef 'n Bun

It always used to give me a laugh to drive by Beef 'n Bun in El Cajon. Okay, it still does give me a laugh, but I'm not laughing at their burgers anymore. The burger has cheese, bacon, and the beef is not from a frozen patty. I've heard that the shakes and the fried zucchini are delicious heavenly meals in themselves.

do you realize how many calories that burger has? I'm guessing around 1500.

Serbs LOVE fried things and lots of meat. The Beef and Bun would be a big hit here.

Beef 'n Bun makes me giggle, too. But ya, they do have some tasty food, ya gotta give 'em that. We rarely go there, though, because of the afore-mentioned calorie issue.

OMG Felicia! I was already hungry for lunch and you've just sent me right over the edge. I have a hair appointment at 1:30, but I'm going to head over to Scooters or Red Mill right now for a juicy one (probably Veggie, though). I've always loved your Friday food shots. I'm just catching up with you today and have to compliment you on some amazing photos. You just keep getting better and better at showing us the heart of SD life and keeping us visually charmed. Kudos. Hope you will have a great weekend,
-Kim

Beef 'n' Bun? Is that anything like the "semi-live entertainment" in Point Loma?

I am vegetarian, and their onion rings and peanut butter shakes are a meal by themselves. The shakes are made like you would make them at home. You can even see where they scraped the peanut butter off the knife on the edge of the cup. Laugh all you want at the name, but the food ain't no joke. If I ever do decide to eat a burger, theirs would be the one. Real food.

Beef n Bun is in la mesa, not el cajon,i wouldnt recommend anyone go to el cajon for any reason,it's worn down, gang infested, meth city, nothing good can come of a trip to el cajon, unless you're looking to get robbed or to score some dope, venturing to that area of san diego is never advisable. la mesa on the other hand is a clean upscale are and very safe.
