Green day

At Mission Trails Regional Park we went on the Oak Grove Loop Trail which is an easy 1 mile hike right near the Visitor Center. We saw hundreds of these black and reddish caterpillars hanging out in the grass. It shouldn't be long before we see lots and lots of butterflies! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I live in the East. Looks like gypsy moths to me. Bad news. They eat so much that they eventually kill the tree, bush.

I love living near Mission Trails Park this time of year - it is so green there right now! Great shots of the caterpillars!
