All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go
And now for something completely different from Gayle: On one block of El Cajon Blvd., between 47th & Menlo, all the light poles have been lavishly painted this bright red and yellow. I don't know who did it but it undoubtedly has something to do with the Vietnamese and Cambodian community that dominates this area. As you can see, the red matches the building that this pole stands next to. If you're feeling adventurous and looking for some good cheap eats, there are a couple of good restaurants in the immediate area. The Vietnamese spring rolls with shrimp and peanut sauce at the little takeout place at the corner of Menlo & El Cajon are worth the drive alone.

Maybe they had some red paint left after finishing painting the nearby building! Colorful it is.
I am intrigued by lampposts and these are quite eye-catching.
