How often do you get to sit down on the toilet in a bathroom with beautiful tiles like this? I can guess what you are thinking...why do I have my camera in the bathroom? I often carry my camera by the strap around my neck because I get tired of taking it out and putting it away, so I just never put it away. This is from a public restroom in Old Town and I hope they never tear it down!

It is nice to see the variations in a (possibly) part machine made part hand colored material, and the irregular grouting, which would never stay clean in a school environment -- or a bus station.
Nordstrom's downtown have just completed a renovation of their men's room on the third floor which has installed two waterless urinals. The bottom of the porcelain is funnel shaped, and holds a stainless ring with very little clearance, floating [I'm told] on a layer on oil. Silent, and no moving parts.Almost no use of water, except for cleaning.

Felicia, This is probably one of the few groups of people who totally understand the presence of a camera in almost any setting ;^). Tile work in SoCal is ubiquitous and I only missed it when we moved away from the commonness of it. Very nice to see.

That is from another era. I can honestly say I have now peed an photographed.
I do the same thing - even at work. I sometimes wonder what people think I am doing taking a camera into the bathroom :)
