Best of 2008

Can you believe it's 2009?! I surely cannot. It seems we were just putting up the best 2007 photo, doesn't it?

I selected this photo because as I was scrolling through it's the only one that stopped me cold. Perhaps that's a weak criteria, but there you have it. This photo was taken for theme day, numbers, the first day in May, 2008.

I hope you rang in the new year happy, healthy & safe. Here's to another year of health, wealth, good cheer and more daily photos. Oh, and don't forget to start writing '09 on your checks (if, in fact, you still write checks, that is).

Others are also participating in this daily photo theme day. Check them out by clicking here:

Felicia, I have to agree with you about the impact of this shot! In fact, in August my daughter and I stood right where you took this. We had gone down to the border on the trolly and somehow ended up going on the wrong line from this station on on the way back. We and most of the people from our car had to walk back several blocks to this station and wait for another line. So, a personal connection seals the deal for me and this photo!
Wishing you lots of great image finds in 2009 and continued good health and much happiness,
-Kim

I like this choice. I chose mine partly because it calms me down every time I look at it. . . . :-)

I do have to tell you that I played Pictionary last night for the first time, and I was on Team #3, but we called ourselved Team E because the 3 backwards looked like an "E." When I saw the photo, that was the first thing I thought. :-)

Cheers for a happy new year! May the world find 2009 a more peaceful, optimistic, blessed and safe year.

Chris

That's probably the best interpretation of 'best' I've seen! Nicely done.

Thanks and Happy 2009 to you all! An important correction - Alexandra took this photo and posted today. I think the lines in the photo are great - the eye travels all around the scene. Good tip about writing '09 on checks, it happens almost every time in the new year and I think, duh and doh! :)

When that trolley interchange station first opened, the restaurant space was leased to Adrian Romero, Tijuana bullfighter and buddy of Paul Dobson (who despite his small stature has faced the angry toros himself). The restaurant was very unusual and of excellent quality -- anybody remember its name? Too good to survive long. I wonder if Romero ever opened another place? Google doesn't seem to think so.
