A jaunty hat for Christmas
At Christmas dinner in our household, everyone wears a silly hat. This site is common in many an English household, but here in America it is much more rare. My English step dad introduced us to Christmas crackers (and the hats hidden inside them), and now we wouldn't have it any other way. Once cracking open your cracker with a neighbor, you'll find a silly (bad) joke which is announced to everyone at the table, a toy - which is invariably difficult to decipher, illiciting more discussion & theorizing as to its purpose, and a hat - which is plunked on your head for the duration of the meal.
Do you have any silly Christmas traditions in your household?
Merry Christmas, everyone. Or, as my step dad says, Happy Christmas.

I like the idea of hats filled with crackers. Sounds like a hangover from the great depression days.
Oh that sounds like fun, I love it. Silly traditions? I can't think of any right now...hmmm
Merry Christmas!
We invite a guest or two for our Christmas dinner. Adds so much.
Lovely photo! Those are really nice hats too - not like some cheap ones I've had before. We don't have Christmas crackers, but we do eat seafood and drink a lot!
Everyone has to put on a red foam nose and have their picture taken. It's called "The Rudolph Project."
