Days of the Dead
The Day of the Dead or Dia de los Muertos is celebrated today and tomorrow. It is a Mexican holiday, but many people in San Diego will also be celebrating. A tradition for the day is to build an altar to honor the deceased which is decorated with sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed. Some may also visit grave sites and leave these items as offerings or ofrenda.
