Grant Park's headstones

There is a line of headstones located at the back edge of Grant Park, a little reminder of what this park used to be. Recently, a whole new playground was put in at this park, & we went recently and had lots of fun getting acquainted with the new landscape.

Everytime I go to this park I think it's a little more beautiful than I did the last time I was there, and this time was no different.

So this is probably actually called "Pioneer Park" It's the elementary school right near by that is called is called Grant.

Local lore has it that in some cases they only moved the head stones and left what lies below.

Thanks for the great photo.

I recently went to a b-day party there and the new playground is very nice. I think Randy's right that the bodies weren't moved. It is a beautiful park, but it is a little creepy to think that you're stepping on graves. The funny part is that when I've been over by the headstones at this park I make it a point not to step on someone's grave! Go figure!

Marvellous shot whatever they are. Love the way you have picked up that rich blue sky in the background too. Real depth in this image.
