Golden Hill sign
Golden Hill is an old neighborhood on a hill east of the downtown area and south of Balboa Park. I tried to find out why Golden Hill is called "golden" but I couldn't find anything, maybe you know?
I had my first peek into the Golden Hill Training Ground when I watched my friends play football there. I was more interested in looking at the men's legs than the actual area but from what I remember (when I wasn't swooning) was the immense size of the place - an entire football pitch and running circuit, as well as a small seating area for supporting fans. I'm not sure why its called Golden Hill but it sure is a good place to sit and watch out for the next Golden Balls

I seem to have heard that in the old days that a lot of financial people lived in the Golden Hill area.
