Theme Day - Water

Built from 1813-1816, the Old Mission Dam in Mission Trails Regional Park is one of the oldest water projects in the western U.S. Using lime and crushed seashells as mortar, Indians and Spanish settlers used ropes, pulleys, and hand labor to build this 250 foot long, 10 foot thick, and about 12 foot high dam.
