Wheel this way
I was so impressed with this sign near Petco Park that I backtracked to take a photo. Most people just take it for granted that they can get around everywhere, but those that require a wheelchair can find curbs, stairs, or narrow entryways to be big obstacles. While looking for info about these signs, I found this handy resource on the web called Accessible San Diego, a guide for disabled travelers as well as news and a calendar of events.

So what, may we ask, were you doing at Petco Park out of season (for the benefit of "foreigners", it's the downtown baseball park)?
Yes, although still not perfect, US made great strides in accomodating disabled travelers. You appreciate that even more when abroad, where this concept is still foreign to them ;-)
So curious Expat! I just happened to be downtown, not at Petco, although in Dec they do have a "snow day" as well as tours of the facility throughout the year. Isabella, you're right. I hadn't even thought of the difficulties of accessibility in other countries.
