The Q

I wouldn't be a good San Diego blogger if I didn't mention our football team the Chargers once in a while. :-) But sadly, today they lost their playoff game to go to the Super Bowl. Now, what will become of Qualcomm Stadium (pictured above and known as "The Q" and formerly known as Jack Murphy Stadium)? What's your opinion?

Well rats. I would have liked to see them make the Superbowl. Oh well - there's always next year!

Not one to give an opinion as I barely understand American football. However, I do see it's a sad day if the Q becomes redundant. Hope it doesn't!

There is nothing wrong with the Q. It's mwell-served by transportation with plenty of room to tailgate. If these rich team owners want a new stadium, let them pay out of their own pockets. No public money for a new stadium!

Several years ago I saw the perfect space for the Spanos' new stadium: an agricultural field across the freeway from their offices near Fresno; surrounded by bedroom communities connected by US 99, a six-lane highway.
Qualcomm Stadium should be promoted for use by soccer teams, playoffs etc. Remember it will be payed off in full before the NFL leaves. It is a CITY asset. Richard (SAN)
