Color convergence
While many others Daily Photos are showing how the leaves on the trees match the reds and yellows of the world around us, I felt lucky to catch this bus and AMC Pacer car on University Avenue in a color collision. Some people think that the AMC Pacer or AMC Gremlin are the ugliest cars in the world. When I was in high school I thought my first car, a puke yellow 1978 Toyota Corolla, was the ugliest car ever. What was your first car?

Excellent timing! That's a great shot, and a great contrast with the buildings in the background. My first car was a 1968 Chevelle Malibu. It was awesome. To this day I regret selling it. Alas, life goes on.
Thanks for the memories,
Wayne
Felicia-
Wasn't your Toyota the same color as the building in the background??
That Pacer is hot.
My first car was a 1980 diesel Rabbit that was a really crappy (and I mean crappy)brown. It expelled huge plumes of black smoke, and went about 5 mph up the stadium hill.
Happy Thanksgiving!

My first was a retired postal delivery van, bought at auction from the British post office for 36 pounds. I fitted it with bunks and drove it from London to Rome and back. I acquired a girlfriend along the way, and wished I'd made the bunks a skosh wider. It was a side-valve engine -- the only car engine I ever understood completely.
Pretty good fun, that was.
A very lucky catch, that's right! Fun post. :)
What fun stories! And yes, Susu, my first car was very close in color to the building in the background - yucky! Thanks for stopping by everyone and Happy Thanksgiving too!
Hi Felicia! Awesome shot! What were the odds? I love Pacers! My Dad and I just built my first car... A PACER! We finished it in time to make the 7-states in 7-days 2007 Hot Rod Power Tour! Hot Rod liked it too 'cause they featured my Pacer in their November 2007 issue in a 6 page article. My 1976 Pacer X is 'Plum Crazy' purple with a white stripe. My Dad put a modern Jeep engine in it with an overdrive transmission. Please visit my site and vote at MoPacer.com. Thanks and Happy Holidays! Anna Beth Lamkin
Hooray for serendipity! Love it, love it, love it. My first car was a beige Chevy II--I loved that little car!
cool colors
My first car was a 1948 Crosley stationwagon, a 4' x4' x12' volume in, appropriately, refrigerator white. It was nineteen years old, and mechanically a challenge;non-hydraulic brakes etc. But a very nice over-head cam engine. I have it still, in my backyard.

I don't believe my eyes, an AMC Pacer. Great shot.
