Beach brew-haha
Banning alcohol at the beach has been a hot topic here since Labor Day when there was an alcohol-related riot in Pacific Beach (shown above). The next day a city councilman proposed an alcohol ban at all city beaches. This isn't the first time the issue has come up and it probably won't be the last. What do you think about allowing alcohol at the beach?

I'm strongly AGAINST the ban. I have no desire, any more, to personally take a 6-pack to the beach and admire the woman, but I think it's a fundamental freedom. No glass bottles, of course.
ban it. too many idiots can't handle their booze, and these knuckleheads ruin the beach experience for the rest of us.
Well there you have it - two completely opposite opinions! Anyone else?
Ban on pets ? At least from 9:00 thru 19:00, I could understand. Ban on alcohol? And on tobacco? and on bikinis? and on dudes? and on people?
Maybe we just have too many bans... ;))
Well I'd like to see a ban on ogling men, drunk ogling men, knuckleheads, drunk knuckleheads, idiots, and drunk idiots! Brent's right these people do ruin the "beach experience" for us, but part of our "beach experience" is our right to have a drink and we shouldn't let irresponsible people ruin that experience.
Oh, Felicia,I wonder if families with children find this ban offensive? But, I, too, would hate to have the right taken away if my normal routine would include a gourmet picnic and wine. But how many of us do that with regularity? I like a beer now and then, but wouldn't mind eliminating that small pleasure IF drinking on a beach was becoming a problem. Guess I'm a fence-sitter on this one.
