Tower 2

In the warmer summer months my book group meets at the beach for a bonfire. We try to get the fire pit next to Tower 2 because it is the closest to the parking lot, bathrooms, and main lifeguard tower in Ocean Beach. This month, some of us (not me...I'm usually a book or two behind the group) read Julia's Chocolates. What are you reading?

Right now, I am just reading newspapers! No time to read a book...except recipe books.

I finished Paris Hangover (on the way to Paris, appropriately). It was a bit trashy and full of the kind of spelling errors that tell you at once that they allowed a computer to do all the proof-reading. Don'cha hate that?

Now I'm on Suite Française, a rather brilliant unfinished work about the German occupation of France during WWII.

Waiting on the coffee table is YET ANOTHER memoir by an ex-astronaut. I think I've read the entire set of these — I remind myself of the "astronaut groupies" of the Good Old Days™ in Houston!

do you ever have homeless people come up to the fire to read with you?

Thanks for stopping by everyone. Sounds like some good reads (and eats)! Brent, we usually get at least one or two people (homeless and/or partyers) wanting to hang with us and our roaring fire.
