Midway - the view

Here is the view from the port side of the Midway Museum. This looks toward Seaport Village and the Coronado Bridge. The sculpture is based on the famous photograph of a sailor kissing a nurse on V-J Day in Times Square by Alfred Eisenstaedt and is called "Unconditional Surrender". Although critics think the sculpture is tacky (read more here), visitors seem to like it. What do you think?

I think it's great. It looked particularly good from a distance, as we croozed past on a Jazz Boat a couple of weeks ago.

taken in historical context, the statue is awesome. and i think it's great that we get the opportunity to recreate Eisenstaedt's photographic moment if only in a tongue-in-cheek way. and i love your shot.

I love this shot. At first glance, I actually thought you got a photo of two people kissing... and then I noticed the tiny people.
