Rare street sign

Here's something unique that Expat Stu found... I've never seen signs like this anywhere except San Diego -- and hooray for the City for making it possible. There can't be many of them. This one is in Bay Park, near the elementary school, and I believe there's one somewhere in Point Loma as well. Anybody know of others?

I've never seen a sign like this. Is it perhaps near a school for the deaf? Or is the assumption that any school will have deaf children?

I used to live in the Bay Area, and we had a neighbor with a deaf child, so the city installed a sign by their house. Maybe the parents just needed to ask?

I don't know about deaf signs but we do have "blind" crossing signs meaning a blind person will sometimes cross at that interesection.

My daughter is asking the lady at the fair if she can photography the giant rat. If so, I will have a picture to show you what is in the box.

Yes, I have seen them in Florida. I think you have to register for it and the city will put it up in front of your home.

There's at least one in Rancho Penasquitos, near a deaf child's home.
