I left my heart in San Francisco
Did you think you were looking at a photo of San Francisco? Well, this building is here in downtown San Diego. This is the only Victorian hotel of this era still located on its original site, according to the the Gaslamp Quarter Historic Foundation. Built in 1887 as the Grand Pacific Hotel, it was used at the turn of the century for "community relief services" and also housed the children's hospital until 1920.

It's interesting how it's been used as a hotel and a children's hospital. Is it still in use as a hotel, or as perhaps apartments?
I like the color on this building. I did go on vacation a few weeks ago to San Francisco. Some of those photo's are on my personal blog.
The blue is rich and deep. You positioned the building well for your photo.
It really does look like San Fran, doesn't it?
I love the color.
The blue color of the building looks wonderful.. love it..
Nice shot!
Wow. That is a beautiful building. It is amazing how much detail they used to put into buildings.
Now is is almost sheet steel or glass without any details.
