Lou's Records

Inside the two ugly brown buildings of Lou's Records you'll find a music mecca. One building sells exclusively new CDs, the other is dedicated to used. This independent store is located along the 101 highway in Encinitas (North County). They specialize in music that you won't necessarily find on the radio - and most importantly, they sell it at a reasonable price. But even if you happen to not be a music snob, you'll still find the more mainstream music at a great price, although you just may have to suffer the condescending look of the employee you purchase your discs from! ;-)

I go by this shop every day on my commuter train ride up the coast and have always wondered what's it's like inside. Looks much nicer in your photo. Really funky building in real life.

Hi Alex, I'm so glad you get up to North County because I don't make it up there too often. Your description is funny - music snobs makes me think of the movie High Fidelity. Hmmm, a record store selling CDs. Do they sell records?! Anyone want to name their Top 5 all time favorite albums?

we mostly download online but when a good record comes out, I'd prefer getting the CD :)
