Bear "backpack"
I overheard a conversation where one parent was asking another where they bought their cool/cute child restraint/leash. I wish I had gotten a photo of the child with her "backpack" on. Since I was at the mall, I thought I'd show you this device. What do you think of it?
Before I was a parent I sneered at them. Now that I am a parent of a child who has a history of taking off on a whim...well, we have one.
Which we hardly ever use, and is much more of a threat (a la "if you don't stay with mommy you're going to have to wear the monkey."). Luckily, we seem to be coming out of this incredibly scary stage now.
When I bought a harness for my daughter she threw herself on the floor and crawled round the shop. The embarrassment. I really don't think she'd have worn the bear either or certainly not like the girl in the photo.. I think they're cute though. Angela
Thanks for stopping by. I'm a parent too and am always thinking of ways that I can bribe my kids into doing what I want - "if you get dressed, I will let you hold this pen" and other ridiculous stuff that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't - so my feeling is, "whatever works"! I look forward to a time when the embarrassing and scary moments don't happen anymore, but I'm not sure if it ever ends. Stu, I think it's meant to be a "short leash".
I'm totally with Alexandra. I always thought they were terrible. But now that I have a toddler I must admit that I've often thought of using one - for her own safety. This one does look cute.
