Torrey Pines State Reserve

Many of you may have guessed where I was headed after seeing yesterday's photo. Torrey Pines State Reserve has 8 miles of trails all with stunning views of the ocean. The park is named after the Torrey pine tree which is the rarest pine in North America and only grows here and on a small island off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.

That is a very nice picture. I like it and the idea of trails sounds good too.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

It is a beautiful place but to my European mind the trails are too rigidly enforced. Once when I walked to the cliff edge I was sternly admonished by a uniformed park ranger to "Stay on the trail!" It led to an argument that my American friends found highly amusing.
