A river runs through it

This is a photo of the San Diego River as seen from just off of Mission Gorge Road and looking toward Mission Valley. The river travels 52 miles from its source outside the of the town of Julian to the ocean. The river flows into the Pacific Ocean near the entrance to Mission Bay.

Oh superb. Reminds me of a Turner painting. Wonderful.

I took the liberty of 'shopping the wires out of this pic. I'll email you the result if you'll stop by and leave me your email address in a comment. :-)

Thanks everyone. The thing that I didn't mention is that I was standing on a somewhat busy street to take this photo, so it isn't as tranquil as it looks - but still a small sanctuary for the wildlife. I think the wires crossing the river give an indication that we are still in the city. On the far hill there are houses which you can't really see because it was misty and in between where I am standing and the hill is a major freeway!

HAHAHAHAHA ur too honest hehe nice!
Its destroyed my reality of the photo but thats ok because it still looks quite tranquil - now I just have to ignore the cars! =D
We should do a photo thing - up close one day and from afar the next to get a wider perspective ;) that would be fun!!! howz bout it? =P
