It's all about the beads
Mardi Gras celebrations are just getting underway around the city tonight. The biggest celebration is in the Gaslamp Quarter downtown where there will be a parade, live bands, street performers, mass quantities of beads, hurricane drinks and cocktails, and lots of people letting the good times roll.

Carnaval here, which according to Wiki and locals, is the SECOND largest in the world after Rio, is over. What a blast, but I didn't see many beads. Great time, tho!
