Forward energy
Here is another item Californians will vote on tomorrow: Proposition 87 asks voters if they endorse a new tax on oil pumped in California to fund a program that hopes to reduce the use of oil and promote clean energy. How will you vote?
I'm not big on taxes but I also support reduce use of oil and clean energy but I dont think the tax will be effectively used appropriately - at least I have not seen any sensible plans that make financial sense so I would vote not to support such tax - its just too many taxes being taken away from the people to go int o some barrel that ends up disappearing.
I would absolutely vote yes ... There are some very promising alternative energy sources one of which is wave turbines. A lot like a wind turbine but smaller because of the viscosity of water ... Wonderful photo and one I can not share from Greenville given we have no waves.
It's great at last that the States are finally waking up to the fact that the country is a major cause of the world's environmental problems. Environmentalists see solar, wave & wind power as the future. That should work very well in California with sun all the year round & the sea on the doorstep.
