Obelisk

Only a spot of color came up when I took this photo of the obelisk that is a landmark for the Lyceum theatre.

the word Obelisk is a great word for a SAT exam! I only learned of its existence recently but I hear its around in quite a lot of places. Nice blue skies - and sooo clear!

Incredible spot of light. Looks like a flag. In fact it has the colors of the Spanish flag. One of the most interesting pictures I have seen today. Congratulations.

woah Felicia, I thought I was in Paris there for a second. . . Cool capture of that one shaft of light! I love the dark obelisk (really effective!) against the deep blue of the sky, and the blocks of the buildings and hard geometry compared of them with the softly curving tree and the small dark rounded forms of people. Wonderful composition. I've been to San Diego a lot, and never would have pictured this scene there. Kudos,

Thanks to everyone for your very nice and encouraging comments!! This photo didn't turn out as I expected, I thought I would capture more of the colorful tile work, but the result was still nice. I actually looked up to see if the red-yellow-red matched a country's flag, but there is no country with that pattern and colors like in the photo. The Spanish flag is pretty close.
